Whiskey Catalog

One product profile for each bottle. Tastings can now attach to catalog records.

Master Catalog Sync: product profiles created from tastings are saved to the shared Barrel Notes master catalog. If a user deletes their account, their product contributions stay with the catalog. Personal tasting notes and scores stay private unless shared through a group.

Whiskey Groups

Create a tasting room or join one by code.

Admins can still see group tastings. This only controls whether your private tasting history appears on your member profile.

Small-group mode now syncs through Firebase. Share the group code and each member can rate from their own phone.

Private tastings stay on this device. Group tastings sync through Firebase when members use the same group code.

Firebase Sync
Live group sync is enabled.

Create or join a group with a code, then save tastings to that group. Other members using the same deployed app and group code will see the shared ratings update live.

Account Vault
Best persistence: sign in on launch, auto-restore anywhere.

Barrel Notes prompts users to sign in on launch when they are not authenticated. Signing in automatically pulls Account Vault data back down and saves merged changes back up. The manual Save button stays here as a backup.

Persistent recovery for tastings and groups.

Important: clearing website data removes the local recovery code too. Private tastings and created groups can be restored only if the user saved their recovery code or set a custom one.

Testing Diagnostics
